This is for all introverts out there thinking it’s scary to travel on their own.
The first time I went on an airplane all by myself, I was 13. And as I am one of the lucky ones, I missed my connection flight at the Frankfurt International Airport and got stuck there for over 8 hours. I can tell you, it was not a pleasant experience back then. But somehow this experience changed my perspective on traveling. This little misadventure pushed me to discover what was out there besides my little village in South of France.
Seven years later, I decided to embark on the journey that would literally change my life. I packed as much as I could into two suitcases and moved to Southern California. 10,000 kilometers, a couple timezones, one ocean and countless hours waiting at the Customs & Border Protection counters – and there I was, in the middle of palm trees and famous beaches. I thought I would stay there forever. I couldn’t have been more wrong in my entire life.
Fast forward four years, and here I am living in the city in whose airport I got stranded at as a child over a decade ago. It’s funny how life always has surprises planned out for you.
So take a seat and let me take you on this roller coaster that has been my life for the last couple of years. Let me show you the places I’ve been, where I am from, where my heart lies, how I ended up back in Frankfurt and most of all, the places I can only dream of going next.
Enjoy 🙂
